A lot of people find Holy Week uncomfortable. This is completely understandable as the Easter story is rather ugly at times. There is death and torture, grief and pain, abandonment and regret. It’s not pleasant but it’s necessary. It’s important for us to live through this week because without the pain, the grief and fear we cannot see the amazing light afterwards. Without the understanding of how far Jesus went for us we cannot truly appreciate the sacrifice and salvation offered.
It’s easier to jump over it but less impactful so this year let’s walk the hard road together. Today we begin with John 12:1-11. As we sink into the anointment of our Lord we see how even in difficult times there are moments to serve and teach, reach out and connect. Jesus didn’t let the hard bits in life prevent him from sharing truth and shaping lives.
