Something to listen to as you go about your business:
If you’ve been reading the blog for a while you will know of my deep abiding love for the music of John Mayer. Note I did not say a deep abiding love for John Mayer himself. I don’t know him personally and I am cool with that. Last summer my most excellent husband took me to a John Mayer concert which was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed myself even when I was certain the girls behind me were going to throw their underwear to try to get Mr. Mayer’s attention. Anyways his song Say What You Need To Say is a lovely reminder that it’s often what we don’t do that we regret. Let us not let fear hold us back from doing what we are supposed to do, from becoming who we are called to be as people.
Some reading as you continue to journey through Lent:
Interesting thoughts on where the ministers parking is. Why do we have it? Should we have visitor parking instead?
It’s not too late to begin! Start now. Prepare. Train. Participate
This is an interesting look at modern worship practices and the idea that new is always better. The praise band at my church isn’t like this but I like to see where others are so I found it an interesting article. I’m all for progress as long as it’s not at the expense of participation. I’ve noticed in my travels that people want me to worship for them. The less they participate, the better. I don’t feel the same way. Is it societal influence or laziness or something else altogether? What do you think?
Are you a Pastor? Are you healthy? Have you sat down and done a personal assessment of where you’re at right now lately? Well maybe you should. I think we all should do this from time to time and this list was a great reminder to me of the need for self evaluation as a mechanism for health and wellness.
Food, because let’s face it food is good:
My sister and her husband made some Mint Cookies ‘n’ Cream Cupcakes for me on the weekend to have at our Baby Shower which was a lovely thing (both the shower and cupcakes really). They are the most delicious treats. If you’re looking for something to please a crowd can I suggest these? They are beyond good.
Also if you’re looking for something special to serve on St. Paddy’s Day you might want to consider this Leprechaun Trap Cake. I’ve never made it myself but I saw it this week and thought it was the cutest thing! I just had to share it with you.
